Required and Recommended Development
Required development
There are a number of development sessions for which attendance is required for all members of staff wishing to undertake certain University roles and responsibilities.
The required sessions are:

PDR Training |
Required for anyone acting as a reviewer in the PDR process. | |
| University Induction Programme | The University requires that all new staff on probation receive an induction to the structures, systems and facilities of the University to ensure that they settle in as comprehensively and quickly as possible. |

Recruitment and Selection Training

Staff must not participate in the recruitment process unless they have completed this training. | |
| Chairing and Servicing Boards of Examiners | All chairs and secretaries of Boards of Examiners should attend this compulsory training session in order to ensure consistent decision making. | For further information contact the HRD Team |

There is also certain development which is strongly recommended for staff undertaking specific roles or management responsibilities.

| Grievance Procedure | Aimed at staff holding managerial positions. | |
| Introduction to Managing People | Aimed at new managers. |
