Notes:
- The annual Safety Management Audit will be based on the standards defined in this document.
- The term unit is used in this document to mean a School or Support Service.
- The terms Safety Officers and Safety Staff include Occupational Health (OH) staff in a unit.
- The Basic and Advanced Standards are expected to apply to all units of the University although there will be some which will NOT apply to individual units (eg standards involving students for Support Services).
- The Unit Specific Standards will define in detail specific requirements for individual units.
- The set of audit questions produced for an individual unit will consist only of those standards which apply to the unit. (The standards used will, however, still be identified by the reference number used in this document and in consequence it may appear that some standards are missing.
